Holiday Inn Express Bristol City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Great location. Central Bristol, right opposite the train station. The hotel was very clean. Staff were excellent. Very helpful, polite and went over and above to help. (I asked for mayonnaise and they didn't have any so they "borrowed" a bottle from a colleagues personal supply). Room was a decent size , all the amenities you'd want. Comfy bed. We stayed the next day and worked in the bar area where there was plenty of space and free WiFi which was really handy.

From the moment we arrived until the day that we left everything was wonderful. The staff, especially Dan, the Manager, was warm and welcoming and made us feel special at all times. Although it was a very busy period for them, the staff were always pleasant, helpful and attentive. They enabled meals, outside of breakfasts, to be ordered ( takeaways) at any time, and enjoyed in the warmth and comfort of the dining room. We even had our Christmas dinner organised and brought in by the manager on his way to work! The cleaners were also friendly and attentive.

We arrived by train and the hotel was literally across the road from the station. Perfect location and walkable to shopping centres, restaurants and the quayside. We were greeted by very pleasant and welcoming staff. Our twin room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with super comfy beds. The room was positioned to the front of the hotel and as we expected, there was some traffic noise, which didn’t bother us too much. The dining room was clean, comfortable and well organised. For breakfast there was a variety of cereals, fruit, pastries, breads and the usual hot breakfast (which we chose) which was fresh and tasty. One evening we tried the chicken wings from the ‘nibbles’ menu and they were delicious!

All the staff were very accommodating. Especially so late/ early hours of the morning. We had flown Into Bristol and with there being no public transportation at that hour, we booked a hotel for the evening. This hotel was located right next to Bristol temple meads the train station we would need to return home the following day- the hotel was literally a five minute walk from there if that. Which made returning home so much easier. On arrival there was someone there to great us, they were very warm and welcoming - nothing was a problem. We went upto the room everything was clean and tidy - already to just jump into bed. In the morning there were a few toiletries we needed and with the help from the hotel staff they were happy to accommodate! they put out a lovely breakfast spread, we opted for the cooked breakfast, it was all very delicious. Then shortly after breakfast it was time to collect our belongings and check out.

Right in the city centre , close to train station & shops etc , surprising quiet being next to a main road , staff were friendly & super helpful & very welcoming , having an American pick up truck I couldn’t fit under the car park barrier but there was a car park next to it that I & various vans etc could , I was expecting to have to park up the road so this was very much welcomed , we did use the restaurant , only a small selection of food available but we found something we liked so saved a walk around town and after a few glasses of alcohol meant we only had to navigate the lift lol
